The Signing Of A People's Rights
Anticipation
Its eyes on the bringer of the words, a mighty weapon
The words of the people, the words of the fathers.
A pillar,
To withstand the test of time and corruption.
People
Are we not all individuals?
All a person, all with need of liberty?
The many eyes chant as one.
The people,
"We the people."
A father
Father Of the Foundation was he,
Flourished the bringer of the words
Inscribing his letters upon the heart of the pillar.
A smile upon his warm lips,
A signature rests with content on the base.
A father
Water American was he,
Wrote upon the base with one fiery hand.
A graceful name.
Enthralled, freedom lay before him.
His very heart ignited.
A father
Man Of the People was he,
Sage Of Monticello,
Took the bringer
And carved his name upon the base with
The mighty weapon
Such haste.
For no amount of excitement could be contained.
A father
Duke of Braintree was he,
Eagerly took this bringer
And created his own famed signature upon the base.
It gazes upwards,
The longing in the black ink to reside on the base satisfied.
One by one
Father after father,
Each with a signature inscribed.
Hearts alight,
Eyes overflowing with pride
Chant together on this day.
Not one shall forget,
And not one shall ever demolish
This miraculous pillar of words.
A pillar,
To withstand the test of time and corruption.
For we, The People,
Rightly deserve liberty.
Are we not all individuals?
The many eyes chant as one.
The people,
"We the people."

A poem I had to write for my English II Honors class.
I wrote it based on the signing of the Constitution.
We were told to look for a picture online to write a poem about, and I looked up a picture of the founding fathers signing the Constitution. And this is the poem I came up with while looking at it.
I didn't use all of the fathers because it would be too long obviously, so I just used whichever ones came to my mind first.
Here they are in order in the poem if you don't know their nicknames:
James Madison,
Benjamin Franklin
Thomas Jefferson
and John Adams.
Tell me what you think of it please. .-.
